Every assignment that I have seen from Esther is precise, thoughtfully crafted and well organized. She excels not only in science, but in all of her other classes. There have been many assignments that she has completed that have been so incredible that her teachers have to share them with each other and it makes them feel inspired to teach. Congratulations to Sophia Smith for being HomeTech’s Student of the Month! Sophia was nominated by her teacher Nora Reale. Miss Nora says, “Sophia is a diligent student who completes her work and is well prepared for our meetings. She is well mannered and willing to complete any extra work that is asked of her. She knows that her education is important. Initially shy, Sophia has found her place in our class and she is a good friend to her classmates.” Congratulations Sophia! Congratulations Aidan Gates for being chosen to be HomeTech’s high school Student of the Month! Aidan was nominated by his English teacher, Tina Hamm. Tina says, “Aidan is the one in class that is always thinking, says nothing, until WHAM, he blows you away. He either asks a really deep thought-provoking question, or contributes an accurate and intuitive insight. The word "nuanced" comes to mind. HomeTech’s Student of the Month! Martin Svec has this to say about the student he nominated, Kelly Brown, “Throughout the year, Kelly has demonstrated an increasing level of responsibility and commitment to academic success. She always comes to class on time, whether it's in person or online, and she is always prepared and ready to learn. She is kind and respectful to her peers and her teachers. In Algebra, she takes her time and really tries to understand the different methods and processes no matter how difficult they are. She works hard and turns her assignments in on time. Danielle says, “Alina has been an excellent student this year in both Algebra and Culinary Arts. During Algebra class, her attention is so concentrated that she even catches small errors made by the teacher! Her thought process indicates reflection, and her work shows integration of the material. Congratulations to Kevin Bird, HomeTech’s Student of the Month! Kevin was nominated for Student of the Month by Dan Evans. Kevin is a senior who has attended HomeTech the last three years. Digital Arts teacher, Martin Svec nominated Aurora Warren as student of the month. Martin says, “Throughout the year, in Digital Arts, Aurora has brought her own wit, creativity, and genuine reflectiveness to her projects. It has been a real delight to watch her experiment and play with a wide variety of emotional range. One example was her music unit. Aurora created deep, emotionally moving instrumental pieces that could easily be the soundtracks to inspirational documentary films.” Congratulations Aurora and thank you for all you add to our school community! Maria was nominated by her teacher Danielle DiPietro-Hawkins who says, “Maria is an absolute pleasure to have in middle school enrichment class! Whatever it is that I'm teaching from Spanish to Italian to crocheting, Maria approaches learning with an open mind and constant enthusiasm. Congratulations to HomeTech High School Student of the Month, Elaina Davis. Danya Reynolds nominated Elaina because it is a pleasure having her as a student. She comes to class eager to learn and is always an active participant! In Biology, she volunteers often and loves to participate in labs and demonstrations. She is a friendly and responsible person who works hard on her assignments and completes them with care. Elaina has a bright future ahead of her. So proud of you, Elaina! Madison Bray is one of HomeTech's High School Students of the Month. Nominated by her Culinary Arts and Algebra teacher, Danielle DiPietro-Hawkins, Madison is a thoughtful and sincere person, and has been motivated throughout the Fall semester to go above and beyond what's been asked of her. In Culinary Arts, she's contributed multiple recipes-which turned out amazing and everyone loved! Outside of class, along with her Mom, she used her culinary skills to prepare dozens of pumpkin cheesecakes to share with friends and colleagues. In Algebra, Madison consistently finishes her work on time and opts to complete all extra credit that is offered, having maintained an A+ for the entire semester. During class, she's engaged and diligent and is always a pleasure to work with! Congratulations, Madison! Congratulations to Ben Morris, HomeTech's Middle School Student of the Month! In addition to his stellar work in Social Studies, Ben embodies a strong sense of positive character that is respectful, humble, and attentive to those around him.
